Concept
Assigning adequate space and size to the client’s requirements, the apartment is structured in a clear and pleasant way, while preserving the loft character.
Concrete Box
The Concrete Box divides the huge living area from the smaller cook’n’Eat area. The upper level contains an open shaped bed and bath room with a drywall-constructed wash basin, storage furniture and an in-ground recessed bath tub.
In the lower level the larder and storage are concealed behind a hidden door.
Cook’n’Eat
A cook’n’eat-island dominates the space containing a dish washer, waste management and pot storage beneath the cooking part with an adjustable mobile worktop. Further kitchen equipment is integrated in the closet which has a pull-out worktop.
The three Blue Boxes beneath the roof contain bathroom with laundry and restroom, dressing room and guest room.
Lighting
The loft is exclusively lit with LED (warm white) apart from a few light bulbs in the hallway and kitchen (dimmable halogen retrofits).
Three special lighting features are designed .One continuous light line from the back top of the Blue Boxes, two in-ground LED up lights in the living room’s back wall and a dimmable ceiling light in the upper bed and bath room.

The typical Berlin apartment rear wing that was to re-organize, is attached to the cooking/dining area where the guest bathroom was firstly placed in order to receive a completely private area behind, in which the visually connected bedroom and bathroom would freely merge into one another.
The space is structured by a sculptural closet and a hermetically closed Red Box, accessible by a push-to-open door, which is worked in flush with the „outer wall“ and leads to a laundry and dressing room.
